Bruce and poet Robert Pinsky, along with John Wesley Harding, appear at "Jersey Rain: Robert Pinsky and Bruce Springsteen in Conversation and Performance with John Wesley Harding", a part of the 2010 WAMFEST Words and Music Festival. The songs listed were interspersed with poems read by both Pinksy and Springsteen, who accompanied himself on 12-string guitar. The poems read by Bruce include "Samurai Song", "An Explanation Of America", "Jersey Rain", and a joking snippet of his own "Blinded By The Light".

Some time in 2010, Springsteen and Ray Davies recorded vocals for a new version of the Kinks classic "Better Things" at Stone Hill Studio, released on the Davies duets album See My Friends on November 1, 2010. Springsteen also contributes guitar to the track, the rest of which was recorded previously at Electric Lady Studios in New York City. It's unknown exactly when the recording session took place; we have placed it here pending further information for convenience.

It's uncertain whether the demo of the latter song provided the base track for the released version.

PEG O' MY HEART
While on tour in Australia in December 2010, the Dropkick Murphys wrote to Springsteen to invite him to participate on their upcoming album Going Out In Style (released March 1, 2011). Bruce quickly recorded his duet part for "Peg O' My Heart". When he opened the email with Bruce's vocal file, Murphys singer Ken Casey told Rolling Stone, "I was like a kid opening a present on Christmas morning."
