1970-03-27 Hullabaloo, Richmond, VA
Kevin Gray | Although not famous like Springsteen, Mike (Mike McAdam, who was Steve Earle's guitarist around the Guitar Town tour.) introduced me to Bruce on a March 1970 evening, when his band The Emotions had opened for Steel Mill, fronted by Springsteen, at Richmond, Virginia’s, Hullabaloo Club, a no-alcohol teen club. That evening Bruce introduced Steven Van Zandt, a new member of the band. Little Stevie was playing a very cool looking plexiglass bass. Bruce thanked me for being there, shook my hand with a soft and sincere grip, and continued to hang with Mike and me. Mike and I were just high school juniors. |
