2002-12-09 Carolina Center, Columbia, SC
Tom Cantillon | I had gone to the Columbia show believing that Bruce and band could not get any better than in Charlotte — but I was mistaken. When Bruce launched into Growin' Up, the crowd went wild — a very unexpected treat. Other highlights included Bruce playing harmonica while Clarence blasted into his sax during the end of She's the One — definitely a sizzling version and hopefully will be recorded. As the encores came, Bruce and band launched into a terrific version of the Detroit Medley immediately after Born to Run — reminded me of the River Tour — same energy and party-time feel. By the end of the show, I had come to realize that the SC show was just as good as the NC show, if not better. And Into the Fire, Worlds Apart and City of Ruins just keep getting better. can't wait for the summer tour. |
