Dan French The filmed concert at this 450-capacity intimate venue for 'Sold On Song' seemed an impossible ticket (maybe only 300 tickets), only available to BBC contest winners and celebs (like Emmylou Harris and Chris Evans). I stood outside with my similarly ticket-less friend Carolyn, who was cursing - barely under her breath - at the lucky ticket-holders passing us to go in, and tried to keep her calm. At what seemed the last minute, someone came out with a handful of tickets and passed them out to those of us waiting. I remember the applause from our friends as we finally walked in! DJ Johnnie Walker introduced the night, telling us we were the luckiest people anywhere - didn't we know it! Thanks to enthusiastic folks (including a few friends) in the balcony who were dubbed 'the light-shakers', Bruce repeated two songs for the cameras - bonus! Hilarious false start to 'Jacob's Ladder' before Bruce quipped: 'This is not how this song begins… it doesn't begin remotely like this! I was enjoying myself so tremendously…
