One outdoor evening show, double bill, with Steel Mill headlining and Glory Road opening (whose line-up includes Garry Tallent and Billy Chinnock). As can be seen in the press report, the audience of around 4,000 was almost certainly the largest Springsteen had played in front of up to this point in his career. Despite some pre-event complaints by local residents, the show ended without incident about 1.00am and was deemed a major commercial success by the Swim Club owners, who immediately began organizing a similar event for the end of summer (see September 11).
