I have a diary note from 4/13/1974 that Bruce played at Joint in the Woods with Buzzy Linhart and Bruce’s band was “too loud.” I had seen him previously at the Joint on 1/12/1974 and at Max’s Kansas City 2/3/1973 and 11/10/1973 so I was disappointed by the painful volume level. The Joint in the Woods didn’t have tickets for Springsteen shows. In fact, the January show and the April 13, 1974 shows only had about a dozen people in the audience.
