One show, held in the Hunt Union Ballroom, with Springsteen & The E Street Band headlining and folk stylist Jae Mason opening. Originally scheduled to be held in the 3,000 capacity P.E. Building, the gig was moved to the smaller, 1,200 seat ballroom some time after the gig was advertised in the campus newspaper, the State Times. Despite the move the gig was still not fully sold-out, with only around 900 souls in attendance. The State Times had a picture of Springsteen in its next edition, but no review or comments of any kind about the concert. Listed songs are from a fan recollection; "Growin' Up" may also have been performed.

Jeffrey Meissner	I was at the show along with 900 plus students. This was my 2nd show and I knew what to expect. It was two days before Bruce's Birthday and a young woman in a red bikini brought out a cake filled with sparklers. I have several pictures of Bruce and one of Clarence from that show. It was a great show and it seemed like he wanted all of the people who didn't buy tickets for the gym to know they missed something special. I don't remember the set list except for a searing hot performance of Mona into She's the One. Playing along with Bruce was Suki Lahav to his left looking at the stage for the 1st time. Pictures were credited to Marc Bittan who was a staff photographer for the State Times. Don't know if he was related to Roy.
Robert Dwyer	I was at this show. I was freshman at Oneonta State. I've told this story a million times. It was one of those life changing events. I had never heard of Springsteen. After the first act my friends and myself were like if this guy sucks we're leaving and going downtown bar hopping. Bruce came on and sang "Incident on 57 street" archipelago for the first few minutes, just him, with one spot light on him. Man it was powerful. They Rocked! I remember a few of the songs that they played "E street", "Sandy", "New York Serenade" (was incredible, with I found out later, David Sancious) and "Rosilita". I know he played some from Asbury Park but it's a bit more iffy, "Growin Up". Anyway next day I bought "Wild, Innocent & E Street Shuffle", And "Greetings from Asbury Park". There was no "Born To Run" yet. I was hooked and spread the news far and wide. told my friends at upstate colleges to catch him. Became the piped piper of Bruce. Got all my friends to love him too.
Frank Wesley	In 1974 I’d never heard of the guy but my dorm room friends got me to go (we were across the street at Hartwick College). Cost 2 dollars to get in. He was billed as a Dylan impersonator in the school paper. One of my friends was excited and had seen him playing in a small bar a year or so before. We went over earlier before the show and walked backstage and talk to Bruce for what seemed like hours. I remember thinking, wow, this is the nicest guy but he really can’t grow a beard! Pretty scruffy looking for a performer. Later when the show started and we had seats up close to the front, Bruce came out and dedicated a song to “Bushman” (that was the nickname of my friend Jeff Bosch). Quite an electrifying performance and one I’ll never forget. The show was in one of the smaller theaters on campus and it seemed like half the seats were empty!
