Info & Setlist | Venue

Bruce's first ever appearance in Nebraska. The concert was originally scheduled to be held on September 19 at the Milo Bail Student Center at the University of Nebraska, but due to demand was moved to the Music Hall venue attached to the Civic Auditorium in downtown Omaha. Tickets for university students were $3.00 and paid attendance was 1,645. An attendee recalls that "Meeting Across The River" opened the show, and "Backstreets" was also performed. A newspaper review of the show also mentions that "It's Hard To Be A Saint In The City" and "Kitty's Back" were played - the article goes into some detail about the concert, see our News tab to read it. A very positive review in The Creightonian, student newspaper of Creighton University, adds "Detroit Medley" and "Quarter To Three" to the setlist. At this point in 1975 the hype machine had really started to build momentum, just a month before the Time / Newsweek covers. Jim Recalls: "Bruce was heckled by audience members perhaps not convinced that Springsteen deserved the hype, but by the end of the show he had won the crowd over."
