“I used to live in this small town, was about 8,000 people, 10,000 people and, uh…I used to live in this two-family-house on this main, on this main highway…and, uh…at night my father used to lock up the front door so we used to have to come in, come in ‘round the back door and he’d shut out all the lights in the house and my mom’d be in the front room, she’d watch TV with just the TV on…my father’d be sitting there in the kitchen just, uh…smoking a cigarette and drinking that beer (?)…so if you came in around, if you came in around eleven o’clock, it wasn’t too bad, if you came in around, if you came in around midnight, it was alright…if you came in around like two or three after he’d been sitting there all night… he’d always, he’d always stop me…want me to sit down…and talk with him a while about something…so you’d be sitting there for a while…he’d start talking about what I was doing in school and stuff and…then he’d start asking me who I was out with, where I was, where I was and where I was…he’d start scream at me, asking me what I planned to do with myself or something…and I’d start screaming back at him and my mother’d come in and she’d (?)…I just had to tell him and tell him that it was my life (?)…”
