"It's the show that put Asbury Park on the rock 'n' roll map" according to the Asbury Park Press. Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes record release show for their first album, I Don't Want to Go Home on Memorial Day at the Shore, hosted by Philadelphia radio station WMMR-FM, and broadcast on syndicated stations throughout the northeastern US, including WJLK-AM in Asbury Park. Their manager and producer, Miami Steve Van Zandt, was onstage playing rhythm guitar for most of the show. Bruce Springsteen joins for "Having A Party", the final encore.
