´´I remember when I was growing up….my….my old man used to always lock up the frontdoor so we used to have to go around the back porch to get in the sidedoor there and he´d always be waiting for us there in the kitchen….and I used to come in….I remember I used to stand out in the driveway….and I used to slick my hair back real tight so he couldn´t tell how long it was and….he´d always be sitting there in the dark with the lights out….and I used to pray that I´d be able to get up, get through the kitchen and make it up to my room before I´d hear him call my name so….he´d always wait till I got to the, to the bottom of the stairs, he´d call me back to come and sit down with him and I´d sit there in the dark…..and it seemed we only talked about the things…..that, that mattered to both of us either when he´d been sitting there in the kitchen drinking too long or when I was real angry….and it wasn´t until, it wasn´t until I got….till ten years later, ten, eleven years later that we ever got to sit down and try to figure out what was the matter back then, why, why we could never get it to, get it to work….and those days I used to go up in room, I used to sit in bed and I´d put the transistor radio underneath the pillow….and that was the only place that I could find, could find something that was telling me that there was more to life than the way that I was living, the way that my father was living, the way that my mother was living….and it was never in what they said, you know, it was just in the way they were saying it and….I made up my mind when I was real young….after I´d gotten real scared watching my folks…..that the same thing that happened to them, I was gonna fight like hell to not let it happen to me…..and you gotta make sure it don´t happen to you either….”

‘‘There we was….it was me….and Steve….and Clarence….it was way back…..and I remember it was….the day we were first putting the band together…but we didn’t have enough money for the right instruments….it’s gonna be a sad story tonight…so…we were all out driving down this dark backroad….all of a sudden we got a flat… ‘impossible’, you say….but it´s true….so…it was real dark…we all hopped in the frontseat….we heard these strange sounds coming from the woods….we were trying to decide who was gonna go out and fix it….(?) I figured that I didn´t have to go out because….I´m the Boss!…. Clarence, Clarence don´t have to go out ´cause he´s bigger than Steve!….so just as we were pushing Steve through the vent-window….all of a sudden, just like in that movie ´Close Encounters of the Third Kind´, we seen this big flashing light come out on top of the car ….(?)….with one hand….with one hand on my rosary just in case…..it was not Him !…. instead it was a cherry-red flying saucer…with the Cadillac fins, (?) on the side it said ´Little Melvin and the Invaders - we play weddings, parties, frat parties and bar mitzvahs´ ….so this cat stuck his head out, he said ´Oh, how do we get back to the New Jersey Turnpike ?´….now….we don´t give out that kind of information to just anybody….so I said ´Ok, mister spaceman….I´ll tell you what you wanna know but first….you gotta give us a wish´…but before I even got a chance to say it….way over on the dark side of the road…. something started to appear…..and when we touched…..”
