First "Independence Day" of the tour and a new arrangement with Bruce on the acoustic guitar accompanied by Roy on keyboards and Danny on glockenspiel – very Nebraska-ish. "Backstreets" include an extended introduction and a brief "Sad Eyes" interlude in the middle – like most, if not all, versions on the tour. Roy plays a bar of "Hail To The Chief" in the band introductions during "Rosalita (Come Out Tonight)". Bruce sings a bit of Chubby Checker's "Let's Twist Again" as an introduction to "I'm A Rocker". "Detroit Medley" includes "I Hear A Train" and no "Travelin' Band".

´´Take it easy, boys….now….now….I hear you got a pretty good baseball team in this town ….(chuckles) well, before, before I found my profession….the only other thing I ever wanted to be was a baseball player…I started when I was seven in Colonial League….then I went up to Little League….then into Babe Ruth League…by that time I had amassed at least 25 hits…. but I was really, I thought I was pretty serious about it but then when I became, got around 14 or 15, I got interested in a couple of other things…one of ´em was the guitar….and I can remember like I was, I was just starting to do…to do some local gigs in clubs around town and I was still on the baseball team and that was ok because usually we played our games during the weekdays, then I played with my band on the weekend….but this one time we had a rained-out game and they rescheduled it for Saturday morning at 8.30….now, by, by that time I gotta admit I´d lost some of my commitment to the sport….and when my friends came by, I told my mother to tell ´em that I was sick….so I was kind of in bed, you know, and I heard ´em knocking on the door….and I heard ´em say, you know, am I there, my mother said I was sick and they went away so I´m going (?) but then about 20 minutes later they come back and they said that there´s only eight players there and that if I don´t come, they´re gonna forfit the game….jeez !….so now I gotta really make-believe like I really am sick so they come upstairs and like I´m laying in bed and I´m trying to make all these sick noises (coughs) I got my guitar by me, I was sleep just like this….but anyway they beg me for about 20 minutes and I couldn´t say no, I´m one of those kinds of people and so (chuckles) I got my uniform on and I go down to the field, they put me out in the rightfield, I´m just kind of standing out there and I´m praying that nothing comes my way….every pitch I got a lump in my throat….so finally I´m standing there, it´s…..bottom of the eighth, I´m starting to feel pretty good, phhhh !….(crowd boos) that´s exactly what I thought….so it was then that I decided to give up my chase for Babe Ruth´s homerun record and dedicate myself to rock and roll music….”

´´This is a song about old cars….and how they never fade away….they just break down all the time, right….now, when I was a kid, I used to sit out on my front porch….in the summetime….with this guy next door, he used to work in this grocery store and….had one of those shortwave radios that got in all the different countries….and I´d sit there at night….and just count the convertibles that drove past, drove down my street….there was….I lived on this street called South Street….and it´s right next door to a gas-station ….I used to sleep out on my roof….when it got really hot….and all night I´d hear that little bell….that air-bell next door….but…..the only time that….I had a sister, she´s one year younger than me….and the only time we ever used to get together….was before we were ´bout to go down to the car-lot and get another car, now, we, we begged my, start begging my dad for a convertible….I think he used to think about it, you know…. was like inside, inside a convertible that, that was him ….but outside, most of the time, he was a Rambler….so we´d go down, we´d pick the car out and we´d go home…. always be a hard (?)…but we used to have the perfect way of getting him back ´cause we found, found the exact spot….in the backseat where no matter what we did, while he was driving, he couldn´t reach us….until we got home….then ´ Oh (?)….”

´´Ladies and gentlemen…children of all ages….we have with us tonight….on our stage, a galaxy of superstars…super-duper stars….bigger than that even….beginning to my left….on th the piano…no offense, guys….the most intellegent member of the band …a man who turned down a scholarship at Harvard University to dedicate himself to touring with the E Street Band….world reknown for his study on lost tribes of Hoboken, New Jersey, his theory of promiscuity, let me introduce to you tonight, on the piano, ´Professor´ Roy Bittan….on the vocals, an alumni of Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes….(?)
