Live premiere of "I'm Goin' Down", a rearranged version of the album take with Bruce performing the first verse and chorus alone before the band kicks in. The song will be played like this all through the tour. A first "Follow That Dream" of the tour – different to the versions played on the River Tour, similar to the take recorded during the Born In The U.S.A. sessions. "Backstreets" again has a lengthy intro and a short "Sad Eyes" in the middle. "Detroit Medley" includes "Travelin' Band".

´´This is a song, uh….here´s a song about relationships, how…you know when you first meet somebody….and you´re kissing all the time and holding hands every place you go….you know, it´s like, if you´re gonna go out to the movie, she says ´Oh, honey, I don´t care, we can see whatever you wanna see´, you say ´No, we can see whatever you wanna see´….you know, whatever they wear, like, ´Oh honey, you look so beautiful tonight´ and ´So do you´ ….you know and like ´Gee, do you wanna go out tonight ?´, ´Oh, I don´t care what we do as long as I´m with you´…you know, all that, all that stuff….and then slowly it goes along and then, ´No, I don´t wanna see ´Road Warrior´, no, I wanna see ´Kramer vs.Kramer´´ (chuckles)….and then ´Do you have to go out in that shirt ?´….and eventually it boils down to a cold hard stare….”

´´Here´s a song about….old times….now, the older you get….the more old times there are….I got my share….Clarence´s got more than me, though….this is kind of a song about everybody that comes up to you at night….if you´re out in some bar…telling you about how great the old times were….now, personally…I´m enjoying the new times…. but when I was a child….I played with childish things….then I became a man….and I played with childish things on Friday and Saturday night…..(?)….here´s to the oldies but goodies out there….”

Intro to "My Hometown"
´´Oh, this is….this is a song, I guess….I wrote this song, I thought I was just….writing a song about the town I grew up in….but uh, I guess it´s a song about….kind of….accepting the responsobility of being a part of something, a part of some place and a part of some people ….and…I guess this, this here, this is our place and….this town and this state and this country …what happens kind of happens in all our names….and we all kind of share….share the glory and the shame of the best and the worst of it….this is your hometown….”

(cheers)….now, how many of you out there think that if you should pass away due to cardiac arrest or some other terminal illness during the final moments that it´s possible that you may….take the down elevator ? ´´Alright, ladies and gentlemen…and children of all ages….it is now my honor….my duty… my purpose in life….to introduce to you….the members of the E Street Band….first I´d like to bring to you a man….who gave up a full scholarship at Harvard University in unusual sexual practises to join the 1984 tour with the E Street Band….a graduate of (?), a man whose many studies you may have read on lost tribes of Hoboken, you may be familiar with his theory of promiscuity, the only member of the band with a complete high school diploma, the educated, the dedicated, ´Professor´ Roy Bittan….and next, an alumni of Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes….from Long Branch, New Jersey….on the vocals, Miss Patti Scialfa ….and now the man who brings you the thunder from way down under, his mother was a Tallent, his father was a Tallent, the one, the only, the incredible, Mr.Garry W.Tallent….and now, on the drums…..author, drummer, dedicated human being, strange individual …(?) author of the book called The Big Beat which you can pick up at 9.95 down at the mall, let´s hear it for the Mighty One, ´Mighty´ Max Weinberg….and now, a gentleman…who´s celebrating…this week…his 15th anniversary as a member of the E Street Band….Danny, I´d like to show my appreciation, bring out the gifts, please, the gifts….Danny, for your longtime dedication, I have….a portable hairdryer…two tickets to tonight´s show and dinner for two at the McDonalds of your choice….and now, a man who works the entire evening without the benefit of a net….ladies and gentlemen, a man as sweet as life itself, drumroll please….Mr. Nils Lofgren on guitar (Nils does his trampoline stunt)….that´s incredible….and last but not least…he´s the one and he´s the only….you´ll never meet another man like this in your entire lives….he´s a lean, mean love machine, ladies and gentlemen, gimme a C…L….A….R…E…N ….C….E….what´s that spell ?…. what´s that spell ?…. what´s that spell ?….Clarence ´Big Man´ Clemons….”

´´Yeah, baby…thanks, I just wanna take a minute and thank everybody for coming down tonight….thank you very much….we appreciate it….when I was a kid, I grew up in this little town….and uh….the first thing I remember….that kind of got inside my head and bounced around and told me there was….a better way to live was when I heard Elvis….Elvis´ music on the radio and….I guess later on as I got older I thought that that the simple thing that his, his music said to me and the best of rock´n´roll always said to me was just ´Let freedom ring´ (?)…but you gotta fight for it every day….”
