15.09.84 Philadelphia, PA, intro to ´I´m Goin´Down´
´´Yeah….alright….now, this is a song about the vicissitudes of love…that means it comes and it goes, I think (chuckles)….that means you meet a girl….and your buddies come over and they say ´Let´s do something tonight´…´I can´t, I´m busy tonight´….´Well, let´s something tomorrow night´….´No, no, I can´t, I´m busy tomorrow night´….´Let´s do something Wednesday´….´No, I got something I gotta do Wednesday´….they say ´Well, how about two weeks from now Saturday ?´….´I don´t know, I might be tied up, you know, I can´t tell´…. you stop calling all your friends….all you wanna see is her….she says ´Oh baby, you´re gonna get tired of me´….you say ´Oh no, honey, I´ll never get tired of you´ (chuckles)….you mess around all the time….everytime you go over and visit her parents, ´soon as they´re out of the room, you´re messing around….she says ´Oh honey, not here´….you say ´Oh, I can´t help myself, you just excite me too much, baby´….but then you come back about four or five months later and she´s saying ´Are you gonna take me to the movies tonight or is that gonna break the bank ?´….and she´s saying ´Do I have to sit around here all night and look at your face ?´….boom, zoom ! (chuckles)….anyway, it kind of ends up in like a cold, hard stare and something like this…. ”
15.09.84 Philadelphia, PA, intro to ´Glory Days´
´´Alright, now, this is a song about….how all things must pass….now, what I wanna know is there anybody, how many of you guys out there is as old as me tonight ? (some cheers) that´s not that many (chuckles) wait a minute now….now, how many out there as old as the Big Man ? (some cheers) that´s hardly anybody….but the Big Man rocks on….we´re old but we´re bold (chuckles)…this is a song about how it all ain´t nothing but glory days….”

´´I can remember….when I was a kid, there was nights when….I just wouldn´t wanna go home….this song is, I guess, about everybody….everybody needs some place to go when they can´t go home….. ”
15.09.84 Philadelphia, PA, intro to ´Pink Cadillac´
´´Take it easy now, boys…now….this is a song about the conflict….between worldly things and spiritual health….between the desires of the flesh….and spiritual ecstasy ….now, where did this conflict begin ? Well, it began in the beginning….in a place called the Garden of Eden…now, the Garden of Eden was originally thought to have been located somewhere in the Middle East….but the latest theological studies have found out that its actual location was ten miles south of Jersey City….just off the New Jersey Turnpike….on a spot that is now occupied by Happy Dan´s Celebrity Used Car Dealership….now, to unfold this mystery…. before the tour I made a spiritual journey to Happy Dan´s and he explained to me, he said ´Son, now….in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth and the Lord sat back and said ´This is good´…and then on the First Day, He grew hot so He created air-conditioning….and the Lord sat and back and said ´This is good´….on the Second Day, He grew hungry so He created the cheeseburger….and the Lord sat back and said ´This is good´ ….on the Third Day, He created rock and roll….and the Lord sat back and said ´This is good´ …..on the Fourth Day, He moved to Philadelphia and created the cheesesteak….and the Lord sat back and said ´This is pretty good too´….and then on the weekend the Lord grew bored so He decided to take his baby for a drive and He created the pink Cadillac …. and the Lord sat back and said ´This is wild´….”
