Intro to "All That Heaven Will Allow"
´´Man, it´s nice out here today, think I´ll take a little walk in the park…..feels like spring already….hey !….hey man ! how you doing ? what´ve you been up to ? (chuckles) ain´t seen you in a little while, you look good, you´ve lost some weight or something, looks good…..it´s nice, what´ve you been doing ?…yeah, I know you´ve been, you´ve been married….oh-oh, we´ve got baby pictures coming out….how old ? three years old…..got a little Big Man running around out there….he´s big….is this your car ?….he´s driving already, right (chuckles)….he looks handsome, that´s nice….(giggles) he´s got that little saxophone…..man, time sure flies, goes fast…..we used to sit here on this bench…..10, 12 years ago, 1975, 1974 ….yeah, that´s where, we put our names right there (chuckles) remember this girl ? oh, she killed you (chuckles) we used to sit here and watch all the girls go by at lunchtime….used to bring, used to bring out albums down and sit ´em on our laps, hoping that they would notice ….it´s right about that time now, man….used to come by this time every day….from that big office building on the corner….hey, hey, check the girl in the white blouse and the blue blouse, here she comes, here she comes, sssh…..(chuckles) we can´t do that now (chuckles) oh, man, I remember, I remember I was with you the night you met your wife, you know…. we was overseas and we were in this little club after the show, Clarence came back to my room and said ´Bruce, I met the girl I´m gonna marry, I´m in love´ but he used to say that about every one of his girlfriends….so I thought ´Yeah, that´s good, Clarence, great, great, great´ and then….and then you did (chuckles) you know, that´s nice…..remember what it felt like the first time like you, first time you see somebody that you….you´re kind of interested in….that you want for your love interest (chuckles) when they come walking in that room….. it kind of feels like this, New Jersey-style, do it, Richie (The Miami Horns start singing) here she comes but will she ? does she ? (?)….it´s good to see you, buddy, I gotta get home, I gotta be home by dinnertime now….and then I gotta be in bed by 11 o´clock, you wouldn´t believe it….that´s when she goes to bed…..I´ll see you later, good to see you…..”
Intro to "Spare Parts"
´´How you doing out there tonight ? (cheers) how´re you guys way up there ? (cheers) that´s good….this is uh….old dreams….are….funny things, you know…a way people cling to ´em…. things that you hoped for, ways that you imagined that your life was gonna be when you were young that you just don´t wanna give up….as you grow older, no matter how much the world….kind of gets you in your face about it (chuckles)….I wrote this next song, was about ….a woman….trying to give up her old dreams….´cause if you don´t, the world just keeps breaking your heart over and over again….and uh….about a woman trying to put her past away….and trying to understand the importance of her own individual existence….and the importance of the life of her child….it seems that no matter where you go or what happens to you….understanding the value of your own life….always seems like such a hard thing to do …..I guess, there´s always days for everybody when, when they feel worthless…..getting by those times….is always a struggle….this song is about a woman fighting that struggle…..”
Intro to "You Can Look"
´´Alright….I love to shop….but uh….”
Intro to "I´m a Coward"
´´Let me see your hands out there tonight….let me see your hands, that´s right, that´s right… that´s right….yeah…..are there any brave men in the audience tonight ? (cheers)….are there any macho men Philadelphia-style out there ? (cheers)….this is where Rocky did all that training and bullshit, there´s gotta be some tough men out there tonight….well, I’ve seen men that would swim rivers….they´d climb mountains….they´d get in the ring….and they´d fight grizzly bears….but there´s one thing that they was afraid of….do you know what that one thing they were afraid of was ?….I´m gonna tell you right now, it was L-U-V, love, they were scared to death of love…..whenever they got near it, they ran, they ran back home like little children….´cause it´s a scary thing….and now, women….girls, I´m talking to you too…. women, I’m talking to you too….because I’ve seen women that would jump out of an airplane at 30,000 feet….swim down the Amazon….wrestling alligators and crocodiles….but there was one thing that they was afraid of….and that one thing was love….they were scared of love….love scared ´em, do you know what I´m talking about ?….well, I’m down here tonight because I´ve got a confession to make….I´ve got something I´ve got to get off my shoulders…..I´ve got something I´ve got to reveal…..and what I wanna say is I have sinned ! ….but I don’t care who you bring down here….you can bring down Hulk Hogan, I´ll mess with him right here…..you can bring down George the Animal Steele, you can bring down the Road Warriors, you can bring down Andre the Giant….bring ´em all down, bring down that Junkyard (?), I´ll take him right here because that´s not what I´m afraid of….because things like that don´t scare me….but what I´ve got to say….what I´ve got to confess tonight is…. what I´ve got to confess is….that I’m a Coward when it comes to love….”
Intro to "Born to Run"
´´Oh, thank you, thanks….so….it´s been great being back here in Philadelphia the past two nights….this was, uh….Philadelphia was one of the first towns we ever did when we started ….(?) I guess ´73….I remember we played, uh…..five nights at The Main Point and then we …..drove to Boston and played six nights up there…..but uh….it´s always nice coming back to a place that you´ve got little history with…..and uh, gonna do this for all our longtime fans out there (?)….people, uh, I was telling the folks last night, people always ask me what my favorite song is….and….usually, usually I say I don´t have one but I think I´m lying when I say that (chuckles) I think this….this next song is, uh….I guess this is my favorite song….this was a song I wrote, I was 24 years old….I was in my bedroom in Long Branch, New Jersey ….had a lot of ideas running around my head (chuckles) oh…..I guess over the years, this is the song I never really got tired of singing, I´ve sung it a whole lot…..and when I look back, it surprises me how much I knew about my life…..at that time when I was so young….and uh, this was a song about a guy and a girl who wanted to run and keep on running….and uh….I guess, for a big part of my life….I felt that that was me, I guess….it still is a big part of my personality but I´m working on it (chuckles) but uh, as the years went by, I realised that it´s a song about two people out there searching for something better but most important, they were two people who were looking out into the world, you know….trying to find a place where they could stand, a place that they could call ´home´….or just a moment, a moment that felt like home….and I guess in the end that home that we all search for every day is buried and waiting deep inside of us….so….anyway, this song kept me pretty good company on my search, I hope it´s, uh….rode shotgun with you on yours (chuckles)….good luck (chuckles)….”
Intro to "Love Me Tender"
´´Oh….thanks, I just wanna take a second and thank everybody for coming down to the shows in Philly….and uh….I´d like to thank this city for its longtime support of our band all the way back in the early 70´s….we appreciate it….yeah….this is for you and your sweetie, here we go….”
Intro to "Rosalita"
´´And now the greatest love song I ever wrote…..”
Middle of "Detroit Medley"
´´I´m just a prisoner….of something I don´t understand…..”
Intro to "Raise Your Hand"
´´Get back on them instruments…..
(….) This is the last thing I wanna say tonight….if you´re alive, if you´re out there, is there something you need ? (cheers) is there something you want ? (cheers) then you gotta raise your hand….”
End of "Dancing in the Dark"
´´Sometimes I feel….so lonely….and I just start living inside my head too much….and I can´t get out….and I just wanna….I feel like I wanna cry, cry, cry….and that´s when I know….that I need somebody….to remind me I´m a member of, uh….human race…..come on, baby….´´
Middle of "Light of Day"
´´Alright, on the piano, Professor Roy Bittan…..on the drums, the Mighty Max Weinberg…. on the guitar and vocals, the lovely Miss Patti Scialfa….on the guitar, the great Nils Lofgren ….on the bass guitar, Mr. Garry W.Tallent….on the organ, Phantom Dan Federici….back on the horns, we got on the baritone, Eddie ´Kingfish´, on the trombone Richie La Bamba, on the trumpet Mr.Love Man, the other trumpet, Mike, on the saxophone, Mr.Mario Cruz…. Tunnel of Love horns….and last but not least….his experience precedes him….the handsomest man you´ve ever seen….Clarence ´Big Man´ Clemons on the saxophone….´´
