Scheduled: ??:?? Debut of "Boom Boom". "Two Faces" has a nice guitar intro again. "Spare Parts" does not have an intro story, for a change, but "All That Heaven Will Allow", "You Can Look (But You Better Not Touch)" and "I'm A Coward" all include intro stories, as always. "Cover Me" includes "Gimme Shelter" in the outro and "Part Man, Part Monkey" includes "Love Is Strange" in the outro. "Light Of Day" fades out midway. "Born To Run" is solo acoustic. "Be True" is dropped for the first time on the tour. This show is the source of an urban legend when it was reported that the origins of the song "Boom Boom" being played was a riff played on the bass, followed by all the band spontaneously joining in and playing the song for the first time ever. Well, apart from the two soundcheck versions anyway.

(crowd cheers) alright (chuckles)…you know…day like today back home that’s when I like to take a walk in the park and see if any of my old friends are still around…hey man! yo!…how you doing? alright (crowd cheers) yeah…good to see you…you know, I’m good, I’m good, you know…you look good…you’ve been busy, yeah, yeah, what’s you been up to?…yeah, oh yeah…you’re still carrying this thing around with you too, huh? that’s good (laughs) whaddya got?…oh…oh-oh…alright, we got baby pictures of the Little Big Man here (crowd cheers) he looks good (chuckles)…he’s got the shades…he’s got the leisure suit on (chuckles) almost as handsome as his dad (chuckles) he’s got his own little beat box, you know, he’s (chuckles) he’s three years old, right, three…he’s got his own car…two girlfriends already…just like his daddy (chuckles)…man, remember we used to sit on this bench back in 1975, you know (crowd cheers) yeah, you see…there was this big office building down on the corner and…at 4.30 every day all the girls would get out of work so me and Clarence used to come down and, and I used to bring, uh, baloney and cheese…you had a pastrami and…two cans of beer in a little paper bag and we played cards… and wait for the girls to get out of work because they used to come walking right down this street…they used to get out right about this time, man…let’s see if, let’s see if they, hey, here they come…here they come…oh, yeah, yeah…check the one in, uh, in the pink dress, yeah…here she comes…(crowd cheers) come back!… (chuckles) ok, oh jeez…oh, man, I remember I was with you the night you met your wife…Clarence is funny, you know, he’s… meets his…this girl comes walking in wearing a…we were overseas and…a girl comes walking in this little party we were at…and he’s like elbowing me and stuff and “Look, look,” you know, “Alright, yeah, she looks great”…he runs in the bathroom and what was that stuff you used to put on?…what’s it called?…oh, the patchouli oil, yeah, and he would carry it with him all the time, you know, he would slap it on real fast and (chuckles) then he comes out, he starts talking to her…and Clarence has two faces, you see, he’s got his Clarence-face, then he’s got his love-face (chuckles)(crowd cheers) that means he’s talking to a girl and he’s being a whole lot nicer than he really is, you see, that’s (chuckles) she can find out later, you know (chuckles) oh man…remember how that feels when somebody comes walking in and you’re checking ‘em out, they’re looking so good and…well, back in Jersey, it feels kind of like this… come on, Ritchie…give it up, man…let’s hear it (the horn section starts harmonizing)…oh yeah…you know what I mean?…what are you doing, what’s you doing tonight?…we used to go out, stay out till four or five am, go into all those clubs…should we do it tonight? should we do it tonight? | Andrew | I was only 9 at the time of this show and it was amazing… my first Bruce rock show ever. I was in the side/behind the stage area and Bruce came back there a lot! At one point he was doing the moves I was doing! I actually spun around at one time and he did the same thing, oh I will never ever forget that. It was awesome, I don't think that show has ever been replaced in my mind, by a better Bruce show since then. I have seen him 16 times now and that one still rocks in my head!!! |
