Premiere of "Cautious Man", and the only known appearance until the Devils & Dust Tour in 2005 - the song was played in the soundchecks earlier. Debut of "Boom Boom". "Two Faces" has a nice guitar intro again. "Spare Parts" does not have an intro story, for a change, but "All That Heaven Will Allow", "You Can Look (But You Better Not Touch)" and "I'm A Coward" all include intro stories, as always. "Cover Me" includes "Gimme Shelter" in the outro and "Part Man, Part Monkey" includes "Love Is Strange" in the outro. "Light Of Day" fades out midway. "Born To Run" is solo acoustic. "Be True" is dropped for the first time on the tour. This show is the source of an urban legend when it was reported that the origins of the song "Boom Boom" being played was a riff played on the bass, followed by all the band spontaneously joining in and playing the song for the first time ever. Well, apart from the two soundcheck versions anyway.
incl. Rehearsals.

“Is there anybody alive out there tonight? (crowd cheers) is there anybody…with the living, breathing spirit in their souls out there tonight? (crowd cheers) that’s good…because I want to know… tonight in this audience…do we have any rough, tough, bad St. Paul or Minneapolis men out there tonight? (crowd cheers) let me see you, men…I ain’t talking ‘bout you college boys…do we have any macho men out there tonight? (crowd cheers)…because I’ve known men that would swim rivers…they’d climb mountains… they’d wrestle with the beasts of the jungle…but there was one thing they was afraid of…there was one thing that scared them to death…and I’m gonna tell you what that one thing was…I’m talking about L-U-V, I’m talking about love…love, love…love scared them …when they got next to love, when they started feeling love in their hearts…they started to run home to their mommies…like little babies…now, do we have any brave…courageous…Minnesota women out there tonight? Intro to "Raise Your Hand"
“(Crowd cheers) Are you talking to me? (crowd cheers) are you talking to me? (crowd cheers) then are you ready for a little religious liberation? (crowd cheers) are you ready for some spiritual information? (crowd cheers) are you ready for some sexual consummation? (crowd cheers) then just raise your hand, baby…

Andrew | I was only 9 at the time of this show and it was amazing… my first Bruce rock show ever. I was in the side/behind the stage area and Bruce came back there a lot! At one point he was doing the moves I was doing! I actually spun around at one time and he did the same thing, oh I will never ever forget that. It was awesome, I don't think that show has ever been replaced in my mind, by a better Bruce show since then. I have seen him 16 times now and that one still rocks in my head!!! |
