´´Oh, thank you, thanks….oh….I wrote that song, uh, I wrote that last song a little bit after my, my son was born….yeah, I got a, uh, I got a beautiful son now, a beautiful daughter (chuckles) it´s nice….they´re scary, though, those kids are scary….they, uh….they´re always kind of, you know, I think we spend so much time living inside of our heads….and uh….kids, they kind of, you know, they keep telling you to come out, come out, come out into the real world and play with ´em….that´s good but it´s a scary, it´s kind of a scary….it´s a scary time to be bringing up kids, we just lived kind of through the L.A.riots back home and….and that was just, it was frightening to find that there was a day when….when it didn´t matter what you thought, it didn´t matter where you stood or what you believed in in your heart or, or, uh ….the only thing that mattered was what you looked like as to whether you were gonna live or die….that´s uh…..that´s a scary….man, I started thinking I really don´t wanna bring my kids up in a country or a city where….it seemed like the ice is so thin, you know….but uh, so ….we got a big election home, gonna get my vote out…..you guys got one coming up here too, right ? (cheers) gotta get out there and get involved somehow….kids, they, uh….you know, they kick your, kick your ass out of feeling apathetic (chuckles) it´s good (chuckles) ….´cause they´re kind of the afterlife, anyway….I guess this is a song about….maybe it´s my best song about connection, you know, so…..”
