”Thanks (cheers)…I wrote that….I wrote that song a little while after my son was born…and….I have a beautiful son now and a beautiful daughter…..(cheers) yeah…. and….and uh….you know all those cliches everybody….you know, before you have any kids , people start talking ‘bout their kids and you just feel like ‘Oh’ (laughter) ….. ‘Oh….yeah, beautiful, beautiful’ (chuckles)….but uh….right after you have those kids, you know, it does change every ….the way you see everything and the way you think… I think that….you know they´re like, they’re your real afterlife…..you know and uh…. I don’t know they, they kinda, I guess they pull you….haven’t voted in a long time, I’m gonna vote this year, you know (cheers)….you know something where after you’re gone….you know, where you gonna leave ‘em…and uh….I was telling the folks last night, you know, if you lived through….those Los Angeles riots , as , as we all did, thanks to television….I think that uh…..(?) you got a glimpse of the world and uh, and uh, society where on….on a particular day, it doesn’t matter….you know, where you stood or what you believed in your heart or uh….who you were….only thing mattered is what you look like….is whether you’re gonna live or die…..that’s a scary society to bring your kids in……and (?) felt like we were….real close (?), a lot of people live with that every day, you know….so….I guess this song, this is my….this is my best song about making…..making even small connections…but uh….anyway … hope you’re registered, get out there, vote and (?)….get a new administration that’s at least interested in all the people (?)……I was telling the folks last night , you know, you get a little older , you find it pretty hard to believe in, uh….politicians or rock stars (chuckles)…..but uh….but it’d be nice if our kids didn´t have to grow up looking over their shoulders….like we do all the time….so (cheers)….(?)….let me do this one…..”
