´´I´m sorry we didn´t make it last week….there we were stranded in New Jersey, trees falling, winds blowing….tidal waves coming in….and I said ´I gotta get to Pittsburgh´…(?)…. then I looked out my window…fell asleep (chuckles) and I had a dream….”

Intro to "If I Should Fall Behind"
´´Thanks, oh…..this is uh….oh, this is uh…..wrote that last song about a little while after my son was born….since I´ve been to Pittsburgh last, I got a little boy, a little girl….working hard (chuckles)….and uh…..now all those cliches that people say about kids, you know, that´s always true….before you have kids, anybody starts talking about their kids, you go….´Yeah, yeah´(?) and it´s hard to, uh….you know, the future seems very abstract…..and then after you have those kids, you´ve got the future kind of sitting there pissing on your leg so you can´t ignore it….makes it very real, brings it right home (chuckles)….(?)….but uh….I guess, now that you´re a parent, one of (?) is being able to take care of your kids and uh….(?) over the past ten years there´ve been people who´ve been so hard, hit so hard by the social policies of the government that are still out there hurting very badly….there´s a group called The Rainbow….the Rainbow Kitchen….and uh, they work here in the Pittsburgh area, we worked with them the last time we came out this way….and they´re out there, you know, providing food, they´re providing the health services for people that can´t afford it, providing, uh….. some daycare…..and uh, they´ll be out there tonight, it´s the holiday season so ho-ho-ho, if you see ´em out by the gates, Rainbow Kitchen, good people working for you and your friends here in your hometown….so….anyway, I guess this is my best song about, uh…..about connection, trying to connect with other people….it´s hard to do that….and this is kind of a song about getting, trying to get the small connections right and hoping that the big ones will follow….so I´m gonna do this for all the husbands and wives and mamas and papas out there and this is also wishing Bill Clinton good luck (cheers mixed with boos) go right ahead, that´s what makes it the U.S.A (chuckles)….”
Intro to "Leap of Faith"

(cheers) is anybody searching for sex out there tonight ? (cheers) that´s good, those are all good signs, good signs, this next song, this is about all those things, divorce, adultery, everything that makes life such a big fucking mess but real interesting….listen up closely, it´s also kind of a, a, a diary of my own personal sexual habits….in thinly disguised imagery, it´s kind of my version of Erotica….uh, a book will soon follow of me in my large collection of leopard skin underwear….ain´t gonna be no title, just gonna say ´50 Bucks Please´ on the cover…gotta make up the money now that those records ain´t selling so good so….are you ready for a little leap of faith ? (cheers) ….”
Middle of "Light of Day"
