´´That´s right….take it easy now, boys….that´s where I wanna go….I wanna go to the river…. the river of life….and the river of love…..and the river of hope…..I wanna find that river of faith….the river of sanctification….and the river of transformation….to be changed…..the river of resurrection…..where everybody gets a second chance….that river of sexual healing and companionship….that´s where I want to go tonight….and I want you to go with me….because I need to go with you…..that´s why we´re here….because you can’t get there by yourself…. you may think that you can, and everybody gives it a try, running and hiding, they try to get there by themselves, when they´re young, you try, woh !….but in the end, you can´t get there by yourself….and so I found myself, as a young man, one evening….standing before a dark grove of trees….and like a little child, I was frightened to pass through those trees even though I knew that on the other side, the river of life…..was waiting…..the river of a meaningful life…..and cold beer at a reasonable price…..but I stood there paralyzed, my legs were like stone and my arms felt like lead and I said ´I´m not going ! Uh-uh !´ because of the responsobilities that I knew that that life would entail, I said ´Man, I´m gonna keep on running because that´s what I know how to do, I´m good at that !….I know what that´s about´ ….and I was just about to give up when suddenly I heard a voice and a sweet sound coming through the treets, Roy (Roy plays) and there was a gypsy lady sitting amongst the trees, I told her my problem and she said ´Son, what you need is you need some help….you need some assistance, what you need is you need a band´….so I´d like to introduce tonight the dean of the university of musical perversity, the Secretary of intelligence, on the piano, Professor Roy Bittan….the foundation of the E Street nation, Southern man, on bass guitar, Mr.Garry W.Tallent…..standing with me at the riverside…..the Secretary of faith and friendship, keeper of all that is righteous on E Street, Little Steven on the guitar….stand with me, Brother, at the riverside….on the drums, the Secretary of syncopation, the Minister of the mighty beat, bringing the power, star of Late Night Televísion, Mighty Max Weinberg on the drums….standing with me at the riverside….the Secretary of heart and spirit, Godfather of the guitar, Nils Lofgren on the guitar….standing with me at the riverside….the Minister of mystery, Secretary of all things unfathomable on E Street…..on the organ and accordion, Brother Dan Federici….standing with me at the riverside…..and as I passed through the trees….I saw a crowd gathered by the riverbanks with their hands in the air, waving me on ….but there was still something missing….there was still something missing….something essential, something fundamental, something that we couldn´t go on without…..the Minister of soul, the Secretary of brotherhood, Emperor of all E Street, do I have to say his name ? …do I have to say his name ?….say who ?…say who ?….say who ?…say who ?….say who ? ….say who ?….say who ?….say who ?….´´
Intro to "The Ghost of Tom Joad"
´´Thanks, I wanna do this tonight for….our friends that are here from the Second Harvest Foodbank of Wisconsin….they, uh, they provide food to, uh, more than 1,000 different organizations throughout the state here and uh, they serve approximately, uh, 350,000 folks here in Wisconsin, nearly 40 percent of those are children….15 percent of the…..Wisconsin residents under 18 are living below the poverty line, the Second Harvest is there to support your neighbors in need, you´ll see them out in the lobby tonight and they can use your time and support, this is for the folks from the Second Harvest Foodbank….. ´´

´´Sheboygan !….Sheboygan !….I´ve been to Sheboygan !….I´ve been there….is anybody here from Sheboygan ? (cheers)(?)….(continues the list of Wisconsin towns)….Milwaukee !…. Milwaukee !….Milwaukee !….but everywhere I´ve gone I´ve seen people lost in confusion ….lost in the wilderness….lost in the Green Bay Packer memorabilia….lost in loneliness…. lost in bitterness….but we´re here tonight, we´ve come thousands of miles (?) on a search-and-rescue mission…..if you´ve been downhearted, disspirited, disgusted, dispossessed, downsized, stigmatised, analyzed, retropsychedelicized, Pokemonized, fractionalised…..I´m here tonight to re-educate, to resuscitate, to regenerate, to reconfiscate, to reindoctrinate, to reillustrate, to resexualate, to rededicate, to reliberate you with the power and the glory, with the power and the glory, with the power and the glory, with the majesty, with the mystery…. with the foolishness…..with the ministry of rock and roll !….that´s right….that´s right….that´s riight….but unlike my competitors, I shall not, I will not, I can not promise you life everlasting….but I can promise you life…..right now !….and all you´ve got to do is raise your hand and say ´I´….´´
