‘‘We didn´t know the words in that one, that was the only problem with that song…. that song was actually….was my only, only number 1 song I ever had….but I didn´t have it, Manfred Mann had it….but there was a…..they changed some of the words, I had the part that goes ‘Cut loose like a deuce’ and for some reason they changed ‘deuce’ to ‘douche’….I don´t know if that was some British sensibility, I mean I don´t know exactly why, you know…..but it worked if he was number 1, I mean, my ….my version was….nowhere ! (chuckles)….see, that one little word change and you have a big hit (?)…..”
