“Alright!….I love the Sports Arena….it´s hot!….woo, good evening….are you ready to sweat? (crowd cheers) but first (chuckles) this is a song from the, it´s the title song from our smash, smash hit album (chuckles) for a week or two (chuckles)….and uh….this is a song about living in times when you see the truth twisted into a lie and the lie twisted into the truth….for political purposes, I´m sure that´s nothing new….this song really isn´t about magic, it´s about tricks….”

“Good evening, Los Angeles! (crowd cheers) we´re so glad to be here in your beautiful city tonight….that´s right….this is a song called ´Livin´ In The Future´….but it´s about what´s happening now….it´s about how along with all the things that we love about America and our home, where we come from, we have the Jersey Shore (crowd cheers) trans-fats….uh, the Bill of Rights! (crowd cheers) out here you´ve got the Hollywood sign! (crowd cheers) the Los Angeles Aquaduct (crowd cheers)….alright….hey, you wouldn´t be here tonight without the Los Angeles Aquaduct (chuckles) but how along with all those things we´ve had to add to the American picture over the past six years things like rendition and illegal wiretapping, the rolling-back of civil liberties….no Habeas Corpus or right to defend yourself against the charges brought against you….we watched the destruction of one of our most culturally important cities….and, uh, because of the color of your skin or your circumstance or your religion, you might feel that these things don´t have a big effect on you but all of these things, in one way or another, are an attack on our Constitution, which means they´re an attack on our very selves (crowd cheers) and here we are so this is a song about sleeping through things that shouldn´t have happened here but have happened here….but tonight we´re gonna do something about it….we´re gonna sing about it…..we´re musicians (chuckles) it´s a start and, uh, the rest is up to us….”

(chuckles)….ok….oh, man, alright, we´re gonna send this one out tonight to our friends in the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank, they´re in the hall tonight….last year in Los Angeles….Regional Foodbank worked here in the city helping the struggling citizens of Los Angeles area, they distributed 38 million pounds of food through a network of 900 food pantries and soup kitchens in Los Angeles County, they´re on the frontlines doing the Lord´s work….please, on your way out, give a helping hand to Los Angeles Regional Foodbank, they could use your time or your support….alright, this is for all the California girls….and one special New Jersey girl….”

“Woo!….the first time we came to Los Angeles, I think it was around 1973, we played at a place called the Ahmanson Theater….and, uh, it was, it was memorable because until that time no member of the E Street Band had ever been on an airplane (laughter from the crowd) it´s true, the first time anyone of us were ever on an airplane was when they flew us out to Los Angeles to play at this little showcase at the Ahmanson Theater….and this was our big showstopper….unfortunately the show, it stopped long before we played it so….but we came back….”
