(crowd cheers) alright…this is a song called “Livin´ in the Future”…but it´s about what´s happening now…now, along with all the things that we´re proud of about where we come from and we love about our home, we´ve had to add to the American picture over the past seven years things like rendition and illegal wiretapping and the rolling-back of cherished civil liberties…no Habeas Corpus or right to defend yourself against charges in court, these are things that growing up I remember always hearing happening in other places…and, uh…this is a song about things that we thought could never happen here happening here…but the mighty E Street Band is here tonight to do something about it (crowd cheers) we´re gonna sing about it!…that´ll teach ´em… we´re musicians (chuckles)…but I feel a new wind blowing…(?)
