“Are we having fun yet? Brenda P. | We were at both shows at the Xcel, last fall (Nov.) and March 16. We thought this show was by far the better of the two. Reasons? Bruce and the boys (And Soozie) seemed much tighter and having a lot of fun. Bruce turned the mike over to Little Steven more, and their "brotherhood" showed through more this time around. Bruce had tons of energy including his famous leg kick/jump from the stage during American Land. In fact he did it twice! I love Patti and had really hoped to see her in St. Paul the second time around (she was missing in November). Patti was still absent, but for the first time, I did not miss her, because the band was so good they made up for her absence. I've only seen 5 Springsteen concerts, but this was THE highlight for me. It was "Bossalicious!". |
Michael M. | Hi, I was at the St. Paul show on March 16th. I really enjoyed it. Right from the start the band was ON! Bruce and Mr. Van Zandt traded great licks on the geeee-tarrrrrr! Then Nils threw in a some really monumental solos and the crowd applauded. Bruce's singing was outstanding, I think the best I ever heard. He used his hands a lot to illustrate the lyrics… it was all great fun. And the audience sang just fine I thought. My girlfriend, she had a smile on her face the entire concert. When she sings along, she never takes the easy route, she sings HARMONY! My only gripe: all the band members got decent face time on the video screen, except for Garry and Roy. C'mon crew, we want to see these great E Street Band stalwarts! They showed Mr. Bittan's hands a lot, but that doesn't cut it. It reminded me of that old country song: 'my mama don't understand, they keep showin' my hands and not my face on TV!' |
