(chuckles)…was a, actually was a request for “Jungle” – that’s right, right over there?…”Atlanta, Atlanta’s” – there it is…alright, oh, I got it… ”Atlanta’s STEENagers (laughs) deserve Jungleland,” that’s what that said (crowd cheers) but it reminded me of…back around 1997 I came out of a pizza parlour in my hometown, Freehold (crowd cheers) and uh – woo!…the centre of the known universe, woo, that’s it (chuckles) and these two young guys came up to me and they said “Gee, we’re, we’re big fans, big fans of the, of the E Street Band and we’ve never seen them” – they were probably about eighteen or nineteen years old and uh…I drove off and I remember thinking “Yeah, those kids have never, have never seen my band, you know” and it was really something that made me, uh, it sort of was the, was the, was the seed that planted this whole last decade of activity that the band and I have done together (crowd cheers) and, uh, I look out here tonight and I see all these little folks and middle folks and old folks and teenagers and young, you know, and young, a lot of young people in the crowd (crowd cheers) and uh, one of the reasons we got back together was so you could hear this one (chuckles) (crowd cheers)…”

“Thank you very much (crowd cheers) thank you for coming out to the show tonight (crowd cheers) thank you, thank you, thank you …this is, uh…I’ve had the opportunity to come to Atlanta quite a bit over the past decade (crowd cheers) we’ve made all our new records here…it’s been very enjoyable…and uh, I gotta thank Mr. Brendan O’Brien, who’s here tonight, for all (crowd cheers) putting his great talents to our service…we thank you, Sir…we also got some friends in the hall tonight from the Atlanta Community Foodbank (crowd cheers) they distribute almost two million pounds of food each month throughout metro-Atlanta and north Georgia… for the last thirty years the Foodbank’s supported local folks who are struggling or in need, from children and the elderly to the working poor people to, uh, as you know, if you pick up any newspaper you see millions of jobs lost over the past several years and hundreds of thousands of jobs lost this year, you know that there’s folks out there that the times have hit very hard and in times like these these are the organizations that are there as a safety net to make sure that folks don’t go to bed hungry and they have some support out there when they’re struggling (crowd cheers) the Atlanta Community Foodbank, those are the folks that are out on the frontline doing God’s work, we’re gonna send this one out to them, this is a song written by Stephen Foster in 1855 so it’s more things change the more they stay the same sometimes, this is called “Hard times come again no more”…”
