“As I was…coming towards the end of writing for the “Wrecking Ball”-album, I was looking for an ending…something that would tie up the story I was trying to tell…I kept working and working and I couldn’t come up with anything…and I realized that the record did not need an end…and so I wrote a ghost story about how the voices of the dead inform the voices of the living…how the deeds of the dead shape the present and move us into the future and how no good act is ever wasted…so…imagine it’s late at night and you’re walking through the graveyard…looking for something…and you’re listening…and you’re listening…and you’re listening…”
