“This is, uh…I was looking for a song to end the “Wrecking Ball”-album…and I…I waited a long time and I couldn’t come up with anything, I was looking for something that would tie down those stories…and point them forward somehow…and as I was writing, I realized that the things I was trying to sum up had gone on for generations and generations…people had lived and died through them before so I started to listen to the voices from the past and decided I needed a ghost story…so, uh…this was my ghost story, you gotta imagine it’s…late on a foggy, wet night (chuckles) and you’re traipsing through the graveyard…at each grave you’re listening…and you’re listening and you’re listening and you’re listening, you’re listening…”
