“Thank you, thank you (crowd cheers) I was trying to come up with a song that would end…the “Wrecking Ball”-album and, uh…I would try to sum up…point the way forward for…some of the experiences folks I sang about had on the record…and I worked at it and I worked at it, I couldn’t come up with anything, there was just no way you could sum up the kind of suffering and hard times that people went through recently and in the States are still going through and I know here also…so I started to look towards the past for voices from the past who lived through the same kind of history as the past is always informing the present, the voices of the dead are always informing the voices of the living if we listen hard enough…so I wrote a ghost story…I remember when I was a kid that my sister and I, my mother would take us out the cemetery, the graveyard on Friday evening just at dusk and she would put flowers on my grandmother’s grave and me and my sister would use the place like a playground, we would run from grave to grave, climbing on gravestones until it got dark and we were sure we could hear something…so thinking about that, I wrote a song and you gotta imagine you’re in a graveyard around midnight and you’re going from grave to grave and you’re listening…and you’re listening…and you’re listening…and you’re listening…”
