Bruce returns to the stage after a week off with a 26-song set. "My City Of Ruins" includes snippets of "Sad Mood" and "Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out". Bruce slips in a bit of "Not Fade Away" before "She's The One". The soundcheck includes "City Of Night", one of several songs from The Promise yet to be aired in concert. Intro to “My City of Ruins”
“(chuckles) Here, here!…I see, I see…oh, a great crowd tonight (crowd cheers) Santa Claus is here…the elves are here…yes, yes… the E Street Band is back! (crowd cheers) and we got some old faces and some new faces with us…and I look into the crowd and I see some old faces…but I see some new faces also, yeah (chuckles) (some cheers) alright…who’s never seen the E Street Band before? let me see you (some cheers) oh my God…we have been around little while (chuckles) but that’s good, I like to have something to prove every night…I’m an old man but I don’t wanna go home (crowd cheers) you got miles to go yet…yes, yes…yes, yes, I like my job (crowd cheers) this is a song that…I wrote as a…for my adopted hometown, Asbury Park, when it was struggling to get back on its feet…since then it’s been sung at many different occasions and been about many different things…but uh…we waited 25 years for…the town we all met each other in to get back on its feet, it took 25 years, you would go there in the summer and the beaches were empty and stores were boarded up and deserted but 25 years later…if you’ve been back there in the past five years or so you come in the middle of the night and the beaches would be full again with people and the boardwalk was filled with local businesses and restaurants, music clubs…it’s a good place to visit… so it was very hard to see so much of it washed away just barely three weeks ago…people who’d put so much into the town…but, uh …it’ll be back, I bet you (crowd cheers) come in the summertime (crowd cheers) the beach is nice, the ocean’s good (chuckles) but, uh, this is a song, on this tour that’s become about ghosts…when you’re young, you’re taught that ghosts are frightening but as you get older you realize ghosts are spirits of your lost friends and the places that have imprinted themselves on your heart, that have become an indelible part of your life and you carry them with you, good spirits everywhere you go, so, uh…tonight if you’re, if there’s anybody missing from your life, a brother, a sister, a mother, a father, sons, daughters, places, things that made you who you are, this is from our ghosts to your ghosts tonight (crowd cheers)…”

(crowd cheers) yes, yes…yes, yes…that’s right…that’s right…this is where we like to take a moment and feel those we’re missing…those ghosts standing alongside of us…you can just…just let it sit…ssshh…and the change was made uptown now…and the change was made uptown…and the change was made uptown now…oh, the change was made uptown… oh, the change was made uptown…oh, the change was made uptown…oh, the change was made…yeah, the change was made uptown…(crowd cheers) alright, let me hear you (crowd cheers)…”

“What’s on the request (?) out here tonight, huh?…(?) that’s tough, we don’t know that one…we don’t know that one…”Happy birthday, Steve,” alright (chuckles)(?) bring that up there, that’s not impossible (chuckles)…(chuckles) it’s good, it’s good, that’s, “Let Steve pick one,” alright, go ahead, Steve, pick one (chuckles)…(?) “Streets of Fire,” that’s a good one, bring that down, come on, we’ll see (chuckles) hey, you look good, you look good (chuckles) alright (chuckles)…that’s a good one, you gotta bring that up here, man, that…I like to see somebody who’s spent time on their sign (chuckles) this would be a case in point right here (crowd cheers) this person ain’t fucking around with their sign!
