“Alright…I gotta sign your shirt and I signed his arm, the rest of his arm…oh…alright, so in my…in my ongoing studies of Australian culture…I was telling the audience on Wednesday night that I went backstage after the show and I was going “A great show, a great time, a great audience,” there was an Australian friend, “Yeah, but people were sitting down too much”…I said “Yeah,” he says “Well, you don’t understand, you got to tell Australians to get up, you have to tell them to get out of their seats” (crowd cheers) so I said “Are you sure?” he says “Yeah, Australians are very law-abiding people (laughs from the crowd) they’ve got to be told to get off their asses”…so I wasn’t so sure about it but I came out Wednesday night…(?) told people to get off their asses and then I went backstage and I met another Australian friend and he says “No, no, no, let me give you a hint: when you say “asses,” no one knows what you’re saying (chuckles) they don’t know what you’re talking about, they don’t understand you, you gotta says “arses, arses” (laughs from the crowd)(?) you gotta tell people to get off their bums, their bums (crowd cheers) you know, you have several words for “ass” in America, right? yeah, well, there’s “bum,” “butt,” “fanny” – he says “Don’t use that!” (chuckles)(laughs from the crowd) “Don’t say that one!”…now…I will not have to tell you to get off your arses (chuckles) because 90 seconds from now…your bum is gonna send a message to your brain saying “Get me up!” (chuckles) (crowd cheers) 90 seconds from right now…alright, give me some lights, I need lights! (crowd cheers) alright…don’t get up yet! not just ‘cause I’m talking (chuckles) it’s gonna be completely out of your control…alright…alright, who’s got 90 seconds? ready? time me, starting right now!…”

(crowd cheers) thank you for, uh, just three spectacular nights here in Sydney, we’ve had a great time (crowd cheers) we promise we won’t stay away so long next time (crowd cheers) I can’t tell you how much appreciate to come back, coming back and, and just all you folks showing up for us and, uh, we just appreciate your support of our music through all these years, we thank you very much (crowd cheers) alright, we got, uh, in the States for over the past 25 or 30 years we’ve worked with different foodbanks and we’re glad that we have the Foodbank of New South Wales with us in the house tonight (crowd cheers) they’re, uh…hunger exists in surprising numbers right here in Australia, in the city as well as in the rural communities, the Foodbank of New South Wales is the largest hunger relief organization in Australia, they collect food, they distribute it to people that are in need right here in Sydney, if you see them on your way out, they’re good folks on the frontline doing God’s work, the Foodbank of New South Wales (crowd cheers) we don’t play this one that often but we’re gonna play this one as the end of the night for you guys, alright…make sure Roy’s loud (chuckles)…”
