“Thank you, thank you, thank you, Nashville (crowd cheers) thank you…you’ve been a great, great, great crowd for us every time we’ve come down here (crowd cheers) on all our last trips, thank you (crowd cheers) I appreciate it, appreciate the support of our music, when you come out and see people up on their feet all night, man, that inspires you, thank you very much (crowd cheers) this is a song that, uh…it’s on the “High Hopes”-record but I wrote it quite a while back after a visit to the Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial in Washington (crowd cheers) when we were kids, back in town we… uh…there were some, few folks that inspired you so, so directly that they were, they were just that much in front of you, yet they were the heroes that you could go and you could stand in front of and watch how they worked their craft and they took the time to tutor you and teach you a little bit about your job and there were a couple of great men I was lucky enough to have in my life when I was 17, they were called the Cichon brothers, one was a guitarist and the other was a great frontman and was really the first what I would say sort of rock star that I ever saw up close…they had a few records out locally, you can’t really what they were about from their records but, uh, they were very, very raw and very, very exciting and when there was nothing else, they gave you a sense of a life you could live, the way you could walk, the way you could be and, uh…they were just incredibly valuable, my good friend Walter, uh, and my friend Bart Haynes, who was the drummer in the Castiles, were both killed in Vietnam so, uh, this is a song I wrote with them in mind anyway, I’ll dedicate this tonight to Brian, this is called “The Wall” (crowd cheers)…”
