The first night of two in Philadelphia sets a new American record clocking in at over four hours and four minutes, just shy of the all-time record set in Helsinki in 2012. The 34-song set opens with "New York City Serenade" (with Sam Bardfeld's string-section), before a further eleven songs that were all written in 1973 or earlier, including the tour premieres of Philadelphia favorites "The Fever" (last played April 29, 2013 in Oslo) and "Thundercrack", both in their sole tour performances. "Kitty's Back" features an extended acoustic guitar solo from Nils for the only time on the tour. Set also includes "Jack Of All Trades", "My Love Will Not Let You Down", "Downbound Train", and "Streets Of Philadelphia", the third tour debut of the night and the 140th song to be played on the tour. Final tour appearances for "The E Street Shuffle", "Night", "The Ties That Bind", "My Love Will Not Let You Down", "Death To My Hometown", "Jack Of All Trades", and "Working On The Highway". The strings, all violins, are Bardfeld, Sara Caswell, Rachel Golub, Joyce Hammann, Dana Lyn, Todd Reynolds, Curtis Stewart, and Mazz Swift. Patti Scialfa is not present.
