The story of Odense. Not that he played Trapped, even though it was high on my wish list. Not the many nice, sweet, kind people from Denmark, Norway, Ireland, Belgium and yes, even a Japanese (last year 15 concerts, this year it was his first of 3!). Nor was it the 55,000 people who are just really quiet, when Bruce asks for it (wow, that was beautiful). No, the story of Odense took place not far behind me. A woman, around 70 years old, stood there full of emotion. Not a happy emotion, when looking into Ella's bloodred eyes. I soon noticed why, as she held a sign; "Bruce, my husband died last Friday, please play Tougher then the Rest." That really hits. Just before the start of "Nightshift" we brought this woman forward. There she stood, at the rail. Then came "Last Man Standing". The old woman broke down. Everyone around her broke as well. Within 20 minutes of not knowing each other, we cried with her. Me, too. We all hugged her, after which the old woman walked back to her own place on the field. Grateful for the support she had just received. Bruce unites!
