Springsteen, joined by his then-girlfriend Diane Lozito, is interviewed by Peter Knobler of rock music magazine Crawdaddy. Photographs were taken by Ed Gallucci. The interview took place in Lozito's kitchen, and would be his first interview/profile, published in the magazine's issue of March 1973. Two more profiles would follow in Crawdaddy magazine, one in 1975 and the other in 1978. Crawdaddy discovered Springsteen in the rock press and was his earliest champion. Springsteen & The E Street Band acknowledged the magazine's support by giving a private performance at Crawdaddy's 10th Anniversary party in New York City in June 1976.
