"Can't wait to play live and meet fans! Actually, not just to play, but to travel, to see our fans and all the different cities, feel that life again, and see their faces again."
During the conversation, Bruce shared some thoughts about expectations for the upcoming tour
"It will be a rock 'n' roll show, through and through”, with a significant amount of recent material. We are planning an old-fashioned tour, where we will be out and about for quite a while, so that anyone who wants, will have a chance to see us. We will start rehearsals in January, and the tour will start in arenas in the U.S., from the beginning of February, until April. Then, we will go to Europe, until the beginning of August, and go back to the U.S. to play some shows in the outdoor stadiums. Eventually, we will arrive in Australia and New Zealand, and will be back on the road again. So, it's going to be a long E Street Band tour in the old way, and everyone is very happy with it."
About the actual show
"I've already written a setlist, just to do something and get an idea, like… Well, we could start here, and see where it ends. We won't know until we go out and try it out in front of the audience. And, then, as always, after some time, we will start to change something to keep it interesting for us, and because this time around, we have a greater body of work. The show will have a consistent amount of recent material, and then, of course, we will play a lot of the music that fans are familiar with and love to listen to. We should find a balance. The show must be new, but at the same time, it must make you feel at home."
Regarding Letter to You, whose tour was canceled by COVID
"There will be plenty of it when we hit the road. Western Stars, at the moment: No, I'd like it to be a rock show. Once you're out in an arena or stadium, people want to see a rock 'n roll show….But you never know, something could come out of that record. It is not impossible. For that, I'll have to wait and see. I haven't toured with the E Street Band since 2017. It's kind of weird, to be honest. I mean, it doesn't seem like that long. We've been busy all that time, but still, I have an incredible desire to play live at this point, so I'm looking forward to getting out in front of our fans."
