Cancelled show, never rescheduled. Springsteen & The E Street Band had been booked as the show opener for headliner The Guess Who, at the time one of the biggest selling rock acts in North America. Apparently the sudden resignation of two of the members of The Guess Who (Kurt Winter and Donnie McDougall) was the reason for the cancellation. However, advertisements printed in local press indicate that Springsteen was scheduled to open for Maria Muldaur, as he was the following night.

I bought tickets to this show, trust me I remember it well. I took my ex-girlfriend and was going to impress her with Springsteen. He was supposed to play on a bill with Maria Muldaur and Danny O'Keefe. The Civic Center staff made a brief announcement at the start of the show that Bruce was not available to play. For years I heard rumors that he had gotten sick eating a bad hot dog outside the Civic Center. The Guess Who had played in OKC earlier that year, I am confident because I went to that one also. Ex-girl friend was not impressed with Maria and Danny but the good news is Bruce came back to OKC Civic Center in 75 and I had a front row center seat for the Born to Run tour!
