Bruce stops by the Wonder Bar in Asbury Park to thank manager Debbie DeLisa on the venue's 20th anniversary. After his visit to the Wonder Bar, Bruce walks with Jarod Clemons to the Convention Hall for a visit.

I saw Debbie DeLisa of the Wonder Bar today had first put up a video of Bruce congratulating the Wonder Bar on its 20th anniversary. That video was recorded and looked like it was shot from Bruce's home. About an hour later, Debbie puts up another video of Bruce and her together from the Wonder Bar. I figured Bruce must have left if she put that video up. Then about a half hour later, someone else posted they were at the Wonder Bar and there was a special guest there too. I live five minutes from the Wonder Bar. So I figured I would go take a look to see if Bruce was still there. I drive by the back of the Wonder Bar and I see this orange open-air Jeep-type car that I know I've seen pictures of Bruce in before. So I'm thinking he's still there. Now the tough part. Getting a parking space. This is a summer Sunday afternoon by the beach. I drive around and around and finally see someone pulling out a block-and-a-half away. I got into the Wonder Bar and there's hardly anyone inside. I see Bruce is with Debbie in the Yappy Hour part outside where the dogs are. They were face-timing someone (one of the pictures I posted) on Bruce's phone. They then walk back into the bar, as I'm standing there, Bruce walks by, says "Hi Stan" and shakes my hand. I have met Bruce before, but I honestly never thought he knew my name. They go inside and sit at the bar. Jarod Clemons comes by and I took two quick photos not wanting to be stalkerish but also just wanting to show here was Bruce just sitting at the bar. He was with another couple. They sit for about a half hour, Bruce has something to eat with Jarod and no one is bothering them. Again there weren't that many people inside. Bruce asks for check, and someone (not Debbie) comes over and I think basically tells Bruce he never has to pay there. Bruce then pulls out some money, Debbie has come back over at this time, and he hands Debbie I believe it was three or four $100 bills to tip the bartenders and the staff. Bruce, the couple he's with and Jarod then go up on the Asbury Park boardwalk. I did not follow them up there. A bouncer from the Wonder Bar did follow them. I did speak to someone who joined up and walked with them (someone who Bruce knows) and he said it was such a mixed crowd at the Asbury Park boardwalk (it is quite the melting pot of people) that hardly anyone recognized Bruce. They then walked south and made their way back to the shops in the Grand Arcade of Convention Hall. Bruce had left a couple of bags at the Wonder Bar with some souvenirs and he came back to pick them up. Also his car was in the back. A few ladies asked Bruce if they could take a photo with him and he said "Sure." I then walked up and took the photos instead of someone fiddling for a camera. Two others then came up, including Beth Ann, who got a photo. Then Ken Rosen and I asked him if we could get a quick photo and he said "Sure." We were the only ones near him. It was very quick and he was very nice. No, I did not comment to him about ticket prices or anything along those lines. I was glad to see him in Asbury Park. It's a treasure when you have the opportunity to see him so down-to-earth like that.
