Note: Recorded sometime between January and April 1987 at Thrill Hill Recording, Rumson, New Jersey (Springsteen's home studio), with Bruce on all instruments. Although Bruce claims full songwriting credit for the track, it clearly draws heavily on "I Ain't Got You", written by Calvin Carter and initially released by both Billy Boy Arnold and Jimmy Reed in 1955. Bruce would likely have known the song from later covers by The Yardbirds (1964) and The Animals (1965).
