Note: A demo version (V1) of "American Beauty" was recorded during the Brendan O'Brien period, but never attempted with the band. Bruce finally cut a studio version (V2) for High Hopes, probably built on that original demo, but left it off the album. Jake Clemons apparently cut a saxophone part that was ultimately not used. The song was officially released on the four-track 12" vinyl EP American Beauty, released April 19, 2014 in association with Record Store Day and digitally on April 22, 2014. The song contains some lyrical overlap with "Down In The Hole", "Gypsy Biker", and "Livin' In The Future".
