Note: Composed by Alan Vega and Martin Rev of Suicide. Springsteen premiered his cover during 2005's Devils & Dust Tour, always performed as the final song of the show. Bruce's studio version dates to 2013; Ron Aniello has stated that Springsteen made around ten recordings before settling on the final take. The base track was cut at Stone Hill Studio and the song was completed with various overdubs recorded separately, including guitar from Tom Morello. The completed recording was first released on October 10, 2013 as the soundtrack to a video commemorating the Wrecking Ball Tour, and then became the closing track of High Hopes.
