Note: Most likely written partly or entirely after 9/11, "Mary's Place" was recorded at Southern Tracks, Atlanta, during February–March, 2002. The horn section's part was recorded separately at Thrill Hill East and overdubbed. The lyrics of the chorus allude directly to Sam Cooke's 1964 "Meet Me At Mary's Place".
