Soundboard recording and audience tape. For 30 years, the soundboard from this show was probably misdated more than any other in Springsteen bootleg history. Finally, in April 2015, an audience tape (JEMS) from this date was located and finally confirmed once and for all that this soundboard recording indeed dates from August 22. The soundboard does not include the three encore songs, but they can be heard on the audience tape, confirming that the setlist is identical to the previous night's show in Waterbury, CT. The soundboard was first booted many years ago on the old vinyls 'Cry Me a River', 'Live in Philadelphia I and II', and 'Streets on Fire', the latter of which was probably the source of the 'Streets of Life' CD (Flashback World Productions). The audience tape is mostly complete, but the majority of between-song chat and applause is missing. The CD 'Arena Rock' purports to be a complete soundboard of October 25 concert at the Spectrum in Philadelphia (see listing), but in fact it simply grafts Ed Sciaky's introduction and the encores from that date onto the September 22nd soundboard tape. The CDs 'Palace Theater' (Wild Card) and 'Deep Down In The Vaults' (E Street) incorrectly date the soundboard to August 21, 1976, Palace Theater, Waterbury, CT. The soundboard recording is also available on CDs 'Down In Jungleland Vol. 1' (Winged Wheel), 'Domino' (Dasuye / Odeon), and 'Live USA: The Boss Keeps Rockin' Vol. 2' (Imtrat), and the CDRs 'Live In Philadelphia' (misdated) and 'Springfield Rock City'.
