Minimal progress occurred on the third album between October 1974 and February 1975; what sessions occurred were sufficiently unproductive that Bruce would ask Jon Landau sometime in February to join the production team. During this period, Bruce did manage to rewrite "Chrissie's Song" as "Angelina", which was either another name for or something that evolved into "Wings For Wheels" (itself the precursor of "Thunder Road"). Further work on "Jungleland" took place around this time as well. Footage of the recorded of the "Jungleland" intro was shown at the September 5, 2025 'Thrill Hill Presents: Jungleland 1975' event as part of the Born To Run 50th anniversary symposium, and was dated specifically to January.
