Recording sessions for Inyo were held during fall 1997, almost certainly at Thrill Hill East. One particularly prolific week in September produced the base tracks for the album versions of "Black Cowboys" and "Matamoros Banks" and the released version of "Adelita"; the base track for the released version of "Inyo" also almost certainly derives from around this period. "Silver Palomino" was written after the September 4, 1996 death of Fiona Chappel; it's likely the base track for the album version was recorded some time in 1997. We have placed it here for convenience.
