Solo demos of the majority of the songs ultimately released on Western Stars and Twilight Hours were recorded at Springsteen's home studio during a series of sessions in 2010. "Some of the parts were good, but they were only an indication of what they could be," recalls Toby Scott. According to Scott, around forty songs were recorded this way in 2010. Some elements from these recordings may have made it into the final released versions of songs on Western Stars, Twilight Hours, or elsewhere. Also according to Scott, some of the songs were recorded early in the year, while the rest were cut around September and October. We have listed them here together pending further information for convenience.
