For the first time in his career, Bruce participates in a commercial. The commercial is shown during the Super Bowl on February 7th, and was filmed over five days in late January and early February in Lebanon and Oronoque, Kansas; Denver and Golden, Colorado; and Hastings, Nebraska by Thom Zimny. Bruce was closely involved in the creation of the ad. He also wrote and produced the original score for the commercial with Ron Aniello, because the concept of the commercial appealed to him, which is based around a chapel that is supposed to be the precise geographical center of the United States. Jon Landau said in a statement: "Olivier Francois and I have been discussing ideas for the last 10 years and when he showed us the outline for "The Middle", our immediate reaction was 'Let's do it.' Our goal was to do something surprising, relevant, immediate and artful. I believe that's just what Bruce has done with "The Middle"."

The commercial is shown at the Super Bowl of 2021. It is also available on YouTube, though Jeep temporarily took it down after Bruce's DWI-arrest on November 14, 2020 was made public on February 10.
