Al "Doc" Berger (born November 8, 1949) is a bassist and guitarist best known as the original bass player for Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes between 1975 and 1980. Berger also performed with The Blackberry Booze Band, The Fairlanes, and, alongside Steven Van Zandt, in the backing band for The Dovells. Berger went on to form his own group, Al Doc Berger's Nightheat.
