Khan, Asif Ali

Asif Ali Santoo Khan (born February 8, 1973, Lahore, Pakistan) is a renowned Pakistani Qawwali singer. He comes from a distinguished lineage of musicians, being the grandson of Ustad Santoo Khan (also known as Mushtaq Ahmed), the son of Ustad Manzoor Hussain, and the great-grandson of the legendary Qawwali singer Moula Baksh Qawaal. Asif Ali Santoo Khan's musical journey began under the mentorship of the legendary Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. He soon became the leader of a Qawwali ensemble that includes his father and his seven brothers. His performances are known for their deep connection to Sufism, and he has captivated audiences worldwide with his soul-stirring Qawwalis, Ghazals, and classical music. In recognition of his contributions to music, he was awarded the prestigious Presidential Award "Pride of Performance" by the Government of Pakistan in March 2021. Apart from his musical career, he is also an ambassador for the Syed Faqir Ullah Shah Trust, reflecting his commitment to humanitarian causes.
