Cummings, Danny

Danny Cummings is a British percussionist best known for his work with Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler. Cummings moved to London from Sheffield in 1979 to pursue his career as a musician, joining John Martyn's band making five albums and touring extensively. Pop success followed, including a world tour with Wham! which led to a long association with George Michael. In 1991, Cummings played on the Dire Straits album On Every Street, subsequently touring with the band, and has since played drums, percussion and sung backing vocals with Mark Knopfler.
