Desmond Child (born John Charles Barrett, October 28, 1953, Gainesville, FL) is an American musician, professional songwriter, and producer. He is a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame. His hits as a songwriter include "I Was Made for Lovin' You", "I Hate Myself for Loving You", "Livin' On A Prayer", "You Give Love a Bad Name", "Bad Medicine", "Born to Be My Baby", "Dude (Looks Like a Lady), "Angel", "What it Takes", "Crazy", "We All Sleep Alone", "Just Like Jesse James", "Poison", "The Cup Of Life", and "Livin' la Vida Loca".
